This artwork is based on the Egyptian god Anubis and his funerary rights. It was said that he had many a job, including embalming practices, god of the underworld, and even in charge of weighing the hearts of man against a feather to see if they were worthy to receive entrance into heaven. In this artwork I really wanted to help to perceive the energy and power that Anubis held by showing the viewer the broken energy of a dead man, the powerful energy of a god and also, living energy of a plant, with the Lotus all the way to the right side. I used reference photos of hieroglyphics and real drawings from Egypt for this artwork. I hope you enjoy.
